Le Fash: Sport Chic with High Fashion Appeal

Le Fash has quickly become known as one of the industry's top cross-over lines, perfect for the equestrian competitor and the uniquely fashion forward. This modern equestrian lifestyle brand didn't happen overnight though.

Founder Arianna Vastino began her journey when she discovered her love for horses at a very young age. She grew up competing as a hunter/jumper rider, but soon realized her affinity for style and design. Entering into the fashion industry, Arianna chased her dreams by continuing to advance her skills at some of the world's top design schools. While there, she was inspired by the mass appeal of equestrian style within the fashion industry. Coupled with her desire for more stylish riding attire, Arianna created a brand appealing to a full spectrum of people, from high level riders to those with a love for fashion. After years of research and development, by 2011, Arianna was ready to show Le Fash to the world.

Arianna's designs for Le Fash go much farther than the look of each piece though. She's also focused on the feel and functionality, of knowing how the design would be used in the show ring, as well as in everyday wear. For Arianna, creating clothing has become an intimately detailed process, selecting only the best fabrics that allow for maximum comfort, breathability, and moisture management, all while ensuring her design details allow for a seamless cross over from stable to street.

The newest line from Le Fash comes in the form of the Paulo Alto show shirt. Available in both long and short sleeve, this shirt gives a sporty sense of fashion and technical performance features with a lower price point. Offering maximum mobility, comfort, high breathability and cooling, the Paulo Alto Collection is perfectly designed for sports, especially those in warmer climates.

Still an avid equestrian competitor herself, Arianna partners with top riders in the sport to finalize all Le Fash products, from the fit and finishing to developing new product ideas. While inspiration can strike at anytime, much of Arianna's brand is created from experiences she's lived, as well as the people and horses she's met, from riders Jennifer Alfano and Maggie Jayne to Arianna's own horses, Zeus and Paulo. Keeping the brand close to home, Le Fash is headquartered in the heart of New York, where all of their products are made.

The History of The Tack Room

It all started with a pickup truck and a passion for riding. The Tack Room was started in 1954 by legendary polo player Cyril Harrison, who sold tack out of the back of his truck. Well known Camden horsewoman Hope Cooper eventually converted it into a storefront business. By 1963, The Tack Room had made its way into the Cushmans' lives, starting with Ida Cushman, John's mother, who purchased it from Cooper. It has been a family owned enterprise ever since. John and Sandy bought The Tack Room from Ida in 1978. Although a smaller business venture at the time, the store consistently performed well. Moving from one building to another slightly larger one certainly helped The Tack Room's expansion, but its shelves still filled quickly. From there, the business continued to grow at a rapid rate and space became a necessity. When the Winn Dixie of Camden decided to close its doors, John Cushman saw an opportunity knocking. He had a vision of what this business co...

This year, due to it's growth, they are a making a whole weekend out of it. The aim of International Helmet Awareness Day is to educate as many equestrians as possible about helmet and safety awareness through a global equestrian retailer network. It is a fantastic opportunity to discuss how to properly fit a helmet, when to replace a helmet, concussions and traumatic brain injuries, and how exactly a helmet protects your head in the event of an accident. Riders4Helmets is a non-profit helmet awareness group based in the U.S. It was founded as a result of international dressage rider Courtney King-Dye's traumatic brain injury incurred whi...
