Springdale Race Course is situated just on the outskirts of Camden, SC, and hosts the extremely popular Carolina Cup each spring. The next installment of The Cup happens on March 31st, 2018, and trust us, you do NOT want to miss it.

Brilliant colors, trendy patterns, and huge hats aren't the only things you'll notice at the Carolina Cup this year. With an array of lively entertainment making appearances throughout the day, event goers will have no shortage of things to do. The History of The Tack Room

It all started with a pickup truck and a passion for riding. The Tack Room was started in 1954 by legendary polo player Cyril Harrison, who sold tack out of the back of his truck. Well known Camden horsewoman Hope Cooper eventually converted it into a storefront business. By 1963, The Tack Room had made its way into the Cushmans' lives, starting with Ida Cushman, John's mother, who purchased it from Cooper. It has been a family owned enterprise ever since. John and Sandy bought The Tack Room from Ida in 1978. Although a smaller business venture at the time, the store consistently performed well. Moving from one building to another slightly larger one certainly helped The Tack Room's expansion, but its shelves still filled quickly. International Helmet Awareness

The Tack Room is pleased to offer 20% off all helmets this weekend, September 16th-17th, for International Helmet Awareness Day. Over the past 8 years, Riders4Helmets has been organizing and hosting the event. Since it's inception, it has expanded globally to 16 countries and hundreds of tack shops. This year, due to it's growth, they are a making a whole weekend out of it. The aim of International Helmet Awareness Day is to educate as many equestrians as possible about helmet and safety awareness through a global equestrian retailer network.
